My blog is all about natural hair. How I care for and style my natural hair, as well as what products I use. I am hopeing my blog eventually helps other newly natural sistas. If I help just one person then I will be happy.
I have heard about this brush so much in the natural hair community that I decided to finally break down and get one. The most popular Denman brush is the D3 but I have seen a lot of youtube vids about how the bristles are too hard and it can rip your hair out so I decided to go with the D1 which is made for thinning hair so the bristles are soft, and I figured if I find that this brush takes more hair out than I normaly loose I can modify it by removeing some of the rows of teeth. I LOVE THIS BRUSH! It detangles my hair well, massages my scalp, helps destribute whatever product Im useing through my hair well, and defines my curls like no other. You can purchase this brush either at your local Sally's, http://www.denman.com/ , or order it off ebay like I did. I paid a little over $10 for it off ebay including shipping which is about how much it cost in Sally's.
Finally got my order of Afroveda Products This is the Totally Twisted Ginger Almond Butter. The smell is a essential oil blend of Lemon, Lavender, Bitter Almond, and Ginger. This is a 16oz The website to order these products is http://www.afroveda.com/
Thats what it looks like
Pur Whipped Hair Gelly. The smell is devine! It is Vanilla Essential Oil. When you use this and the Totally Twisted Ginger Almond Butter together the smell they create combine is GREAT!
It is very Gelly like Hence the name lol
Shea Amla Whipped Butter Cream. At first I was not to fond of the scent Frankincense and Myrrh but it grew on me and now I like it. I am still testing this product out on my hair but my review will soon be up on my blog of all these products.
Cocolatte Moisture Mask. This smells like fake Chocolate like how those chocolate scented chap sticks smell but I like the smell and product. It says it gets its coco smell from Shea Butter but I don't think so because Shea Butter does not smell like this product. But it does have Shea Butter in it. It is really moisturizing.
This is the sample size. You get a free sample with your order. I will be repurchasing this product in the 16oz
On the Left is the Totally Twisted Ginger Almond Butter, the middle is the same product, right is the Shea Amla Whipped Butter Cream. The TTGAB in the middle is the one I won and the TTGAB on the left is the one I bought. They look and feel totally diffrent The TTGAB in the middle has more of the same consitancy of the SAWBC but both the TTGAB have the same ingrediants.

In my last post I was telling you about my heat damage well I still have it is just not as noticable now. Now I only have a few straight peices here and there. My new growth is starting to come in so I have the same look in some areas around my head as I did when I was growing my hair out but thats ok I will just continue to let the damage grow out rather than cut it off. I think I have cut my hair off enough as it is lol. Well I am finally starting to get into the accessory game, I went to my local flea market and picked up a few things for only a dollar each. I got some cute earrings, a ring, a hair bow, and some some sun glasses. I love how cheap everything was because I am a stay at home mom of three and we are a one income fam so of course my kids come first and with whatever is left over I can "splurge" and get some stuff for myself which is never a lot. So anyway here are some pics of the stuff I got and I will follow it up with some pics of how my hair is looking now.
Ok guys I know it has been a long time since my last post I am so sorry. Ok so I am now 7 months natural and I got my hair blown straight a couple weeks ago. At first I planned to just go to the beautician to get my ends clipped since they had not been clipped since my big chop and they really needed it. Then I started wondering how long my hair has gotten so I decided to get it blown straight. She washed my hair then started blow drying it while it was wet, she clipped my ends, then she just bumped my ends under with a curling iron. I liked it....it came out really straight for it just to be a blow out and I did notice my hair felt thicker then when it was relaxed. Everything was fine until I woke up the next day and unwrapped it. It was a hot mess! My hair frizzed up bad overnight. So I decided to wash it. That is when I found out my hair was not converting back as easily as I thought it would. After washing my hair with The Liquid Black Soap I make then conditioning it with Garnier Fructis Shine Burst Conditioner I saw that I had a lot of straight pieces throughout my hair. I was so upset. The next day I decided to do a deep condition hopeing all my curls would come back because I noticed my hair was super dry even tho I had just washed and moisterized it the day before. I mixed the Garnier Fructis conditioner with honey, golden jojoba oil, hemp seed oil, avacado oil, sweet almond oil, and tea tree essential oil. I left that mixture in my hair for about five hrs under a plastic cap. After washing it out my hair felt softer but my hair was til the same as fa as the straight peices. I just gave up for a few days. Today I thought maybe my hair needs protein so I shampooed my hair with my Liquid Black Soap then parted my hair into four sections and sprayed Komaza Care Hair Strengthener onto each section, combed it through, then let it dry until my hair felt really stiff. I then rinsed it out and deep conditioned my hair useing the same mix I mentioned above. After letting that sit in my hair for about two hrs I washed it out, then took sections of my hair applied golden jojoba oil and shea butter in that order, then braided the section up. I ended up with 17 jumbo braids. I then let it dry braided up. I am going to go to sleep with my hair like this and see how my hair looks and feels tomorrow. After seeing my hair after I riinsed the conditioner out my curls are looking better so I am hopeful that my hair will continue to get its curls back. Needless to say after all this I don't think I will ever get my hair straightend again. I have heard a lot of naturals say that continued use of heat can result in heat damage but I have never heard of heat damage from just one use! But I am proof that it can happen.
